Import Services

Did you know that goods can enter the US either as Courier or Cargo?

Imports refer to purchases of goods in other countries for use in the US.

There are 2 options under which you can bring goods into the country: courier and cargo, and the difference lies in the weight of what you want to bring, the value of the goods (in USD), the amount of products and the type of merchandise you want to bring into the country.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clarify your doubts before hiring this service. Our mission is to give you the best advise so you can make the right decision. These are some of the most frequent questions our customers have:

Courier refers to the modality under which a merchandise enters the country, and this implies a simple and fast process.

In order for your merchandise to enter the country in this way, it must comply with certain conditions such as:

  • Weight less than 50 kg
  • Customs value less than USD 2,000
  • Less than 6 units of the same reference of a product

If this is your case, what will happen is that your package will have a “Modality Change”. This means that it cannot be released immediately but requires a Customs Agency or Broker to perform the respective nationalization process.

MultiShipp DOES NOT provide customs brokerage services, but we do have partners that we can recommend for this purpose.

Yes of course. If we know that something is going to have a modality change (formal import process), we help you to issue the air waybill (AWB) either as: direct unloading, delivery in Free Trade Zone or delivery in a warehouse of your choice.

If, on the other hand, you do not have a preferred warehouse then we will deliver the goods to the airline’s own warehouse.

Rates depend on the weight of the box or package to be transported and its size, which gives us a volume based on the dimensions (length, width and height).

Likewise, the rate depends on the city and country of origin and if you want to insure your merchandise then this value depends on the customs value of your product.

We work with customers from different sectors and industries, so we have handled imports of: spare parts, industrial machinery, accessories, footwear, textiles, among others.

No, because this is done directly by your supplier.

We can coordinate with the shipment and guide you in the packing but we cannot intervene in the process of enlistment as such.
